Mandy has left The Education Trust for her next adventure. Though she is no longer at Ed Trust, we maintain this bio page as a record of the wonderful work she contributed while with us.
Mandy primarily edits The Equity Line blog. As a member of the editorial team, she also supports efforts to ensure clear and consistent style and grammar across our publications, online, and in print. Most recently, she was an editor and writer at Education Sector, where she wrote about issues in higher education outside of a traditional, four-year degree. Previously, Mandy was an education reporter for various small dailies across the country and spent three years in Spain teaching English to children and adults. Outside of The Education Trust, she edits the blog for Young Education Professionals-DC (YEP-DC) and tutors an elementary student weekly through Reading Partners. She is a graduate of Ohio State University.
Selling my possessions, condensing my life into two suitcases, and moving to a country where I had never been and didn’t know the language. It was liberating, terrifying, and life-changing.
Why are you passionate about working at Ed Trust?
I’m the product of divorced parents, who have high school diplomas. If you are a devout believer of statistics, I should have never gone to college. I work here to support the policies and strategies that will help more teens prove those statisticians wrong.
